IV-OEM
OEM and contract manufacturing enquiries
This is the service page. It explains how a contract-manufacturing or OEM sourcing conversation starts. It is separate from the product category, and filling in a form does not approve a partner or accept the work.
Intended business direction. This page is not a stocked catalog, a process capability list, or confirmation that a project will be accepted.
Product-category themes, without this review process, are listed on the OEM and contract manufacturing category. Use that page to see enquiry themes. Use this page to see how a package is read.
Contract production
An OEM keeps design control unless a written agreement says otherwise. Ironvale can review a drawing, a bill of materials, a release quantity, and the documents you expect back. Where a production partner is the right route, that partner has to be named. Coordination is not approval.
What to send with a quote request
- Controlling drawing and revision
- Bill of materials if the item is an assembly
- Estimated quantity and whether it repeats
- Material, if you have already specified it
- Standards you require, with the edition
- Documentation you expect to file
- Delivery ZIP code and the date you need an answer
Supplier qualification, if you require it, follows your process. A company that submits the supplier application is not an approved supplier. Questions worth asking a production partner are collected in this resource.
